Kanchanaburi
Kanchanaburi in west Thailand, is located where the Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai rivers meet the Mae Klong river. Here in 1942, while under Japanese control, the famous Bridge on the River Kwai was built by Prisoners Of War. This is a haunting place to visit at any time of the year, very peaceful.
Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai on the Ping river, surrounded by lush forrest is a relitevely modern city, offering many attractions for tourists who come to the city each year. Chiang Mai's historic strength is derived from its ancient trade route,as it was an important centre for handcrafted goods, umbrellas, jewellery and woodcarving. Chiang Mai has over 300 Buddhist temples including: Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Suan Dok, Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, Wat U-Mong and Wiang Kum Kam. The area also offers great trekking between the villages of hill tribes such as the Lahu and Karen, as well as elephant safaris and rafting trips.
Ko Phi Phi
If you imagine the Hollywood movie The Beach, you can picture this island, as this was the setting for the movie. Relax on the sand, bake in the sun or grab your snorkel and swim with tropical fish, this is a postcard paradise.
Bangkok
Hot, humid and energetic, the capital that will hit you from all sides the moment you arrive - from the bustling street stalls catering to backpackers on the Koh San road to the alluring smells of tasty Thai snacks. If the beautiful wats (temples) don’t leave you amazed, then Bangkok’s lively night-time activities of go-go bars and hustling pool halls most probably will. Skirt around the bumper-to-bumper traffic by jumping in a tuk-tuk for a street-level tour of this 24-hour city.
Phuket
Phuket is an international playground of attractions, spas, active sports and festivals. Offering sublime beaches with forest backdrop on Thailand’s southern Andaman Sea coast, the province is famed for its seafood and the cultural, culinary and architectural heritage of its many Chinese-Thai residents.
